Kit is finally ready to go .......

Our new flags have arrived......

Can't wait to put them up on Saturday.

Only 3 sleeps to go.

4 days to go .....

With just 4 days (thats just 4 sleeps - yikes !) preparations are almost complete. Water carriers are now sterile and clean, the various boxes are packed, tents are ok and we are almost ready to go.

Just a few bits of admin left - like the duty rosta and ensuring the home contact has all the correct details.

One final query to solve - who has the 2 Unit Banners we made during our team building day back in May?  We can't leave them behind ...........

6 days to go and counting..........

The leaders have spent a long hot weekend getting all the equipment for camp ready. They have been checking tents have all their parts, buying craft, cleaning water carriers etc. making sure there is enough cutlery and crockery for everyone, making sure the gas fridge still works, checking all the gas cylinders are full and exchanging if not, cleaning frying pans and saucepans and many many more tasks.

Not long to go now... we hope everyone has started their packing. Need some extra black or blue t-shirts? Primark have a good selection still at £2 each - very good value.

Make sure you bring everything listed on the kit list please - yes it has been very warm recently but it can get cool in the evenings and the weather may change.

Don't forget a packed lunch and drink for Saturday and everyone must have a re-useable drinking bottle.

If you have been following, you will have seen the campsite is turning into a small town of tents in preparation for the arrival of all the participants.  The 1000+ staff who are giving up their time to put on this event are all volunteers and as such are not paid, without them this fantastic event would not be possible - we thank each and everyone on of them.

15 days until WINGS2014

The final letter to parents has been emailed and sent out in the post to everyone.
Hope everyone reads the information in the letter and comes well prepared.

WINGS are chasing me for paperwork and I am chasing parents while away from home on a short weekend holiday.

Next weekend the Leaders will spend many hours getting the tents, equipment and various other mounds of kit that we have to take for 7 days at camp ready to pack.
