Day 5... Fling It and World Fair

We are happy to report. We survived the rain... So far

In a very unlike camp twist of fate the only rain we have had fell whilst we were all tucked safely in our tents in the small hours of the night. Phew. Keep your fingers crossed for the rest of the week.

This morning was filled with the 'Fling it' zone which is filled with circus themed games and activites and this afternoon we spent entertaining the 800 brownies and cubs that visited the site today. We used some of the circus skills gained to play some Olympic themed wide games with them.

We also had the chance to explore our neighbours' camp sites and learn about where they came from with similar themed games at the world fair. Giving the girls an opportunity to get some great swapping done.

This evening, once we had waved goodnight to the 7 cubs that joined us for dinner, the whole unit hot footed it down to the main stage to watch Kami, one of our rangers perform in the wings has talent contest. We were so proud she made it to the final and had spent the day promoting Kami to the whole of wings! Unfortunately this time she didn't win but she was amazing and worth loosing voices over with all the cheering, clapping and banner waving that both units did.

We have all made new friends, learnt songs, swapped like mad and cheered our hearts out today rounding the evening off with a couple of camp fire songs back at camp.

Time for teeth clean and bed for the leaders now everyone is tucked up for the night.

Remember to follow us on twitter @3rdWoodfordG or @heronrangers for pictures throughout the day.
